Home Remodel Richland
This remodel had been part of the long-term vision for the property from the beginning. Several years earlier, we had completed a new detached garage designed intentionally to reflect the architectural direction the homeowners eventually wanted for the house itself. Once the time felt right, the homeowners moved forward with the transformation of the existing home.
The original house felt dated and compartmentalized, with smaller enclosed rooms that limited natural light and made the home feel disconnected. The homeowners wanted a brighter, more open environment that better supported everyday living and entertaining while creating stronger visual connections throughout the home.

To help accomplish this, we expanded the front of the existing garage, allowing a portion of the original garage footprint to be incorporated into the kitchen renovation. This created the space needed for a significantly improved kitchen layout while helping the home feel larger and more functional overall.
Walls separating the kitchen and living spaces were opened to create a more connected main living area filled with natural light and improved sightlines. Exterior renovations, including new siding, roofing, and windows, further transformed the appearance of the home and aligned it architecturally with the garage completed years earlier.
New decking overlooking the private lake and swimming pool strengthened the home’s connection to the surrounding property and created additional outdoor living space for relaxing and entertaining.
The remodel transformed a dated and compartmentalized house into an open, cohesive home designed around light, connection, and modern living. By thoughtfully reworking the layout and strategically expanding portions of the structure, the home now feels significantly more spacious and functional without losing its warmth and character.
The completed remodel successfully unified the house and previously constructed garage into a single architectural vision, creating a private retreat that feels intentional, comfortable, and connected to its surroundings.
